Moose Rider News ….

We hope you had a Happy and Safe Holiday Season….

This past year has been a busy and successful year for us. Beginning with our recognition by Moose International as being the Founders of the Blessing of the Bikes and receiving our plaque, to the great overnighter in Iowa City, IA, and ending with another wonderful day spent with the children of Mooseheart during their annual Christmas Party at Lombard Lodge.

In 2012 we are anticipating an even better year than we had in 2011.  At our last meeting we had a lot of input from members about things they want to do, such as a little trip down Route 66 on a Sunday ride, a bus trip to Milwaukee to visit the Harley Davidson Museum with a stop, on our return trip, at the Kenosha Moose Lodge slated for February 2012.

I am hoping that this year we will have a lot more participation on our weekend rides, overnighters and other events.  I really would like to see more people get involved and attend these functions.  Everyone seems to find time to make it to the Blessing of the Bikes, but there are 364 other days of the year that you are still members of the Lombard Moose Riders so please come, participate, we always have a good time and would like to share that with more people.

The destination for our overnight ride this year has been decided.  We will be going to Mauston, WI to visit Reel Brothers Harley Davidson and possibly take a side trip to the K-Mart of Vacation Spots, the Wisconsin Dells; land of the Rubber Tomahawk.  So mark your calendars for the 3rd weekend of July and take a nice ride with us.

Nomination of new officers will be held at the April meeting and elections will be held in May. As I have said many times during the last year, I will not be running for office this year.  After 10 years of service in the office of President of the Lombard Moose Riders, I believe it is time for some new leadership.  Our chapter has come a long way and has accomplished many great things far beyond our wildest imagination.  There are plenty of great people in this organization that can lead this group to the next level, so please consider stepping up and taking a position as an officer this year.

Meetings are at 9:30 am the 1st SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH!!!  Attendance is not mandatory but you can’t be counted if you are not there, please make an effort to attend.  Breakfast is served, if you just want coffee, please chip in.  AND THEN WE RIDE

Fraternally yours,
Lil Bill (Edgar) Curran
Aka “The Big Toe”
